Lucy Tustian - Me Veo Stained Glass
Me Veo Stained Glass Designer
Contemporary stained glass for you, your home and your garden
Lucy Tustian designs and hand makes contemporary stained glass in her studio in Banbury. She makes mirrors, vases, decorative panels, light-catchers, lamps, jewellery, windows and other gifts for the home and garden. She utilises the traditional cold glass methods of copper foiling and lead working (or a mixture of both), to produce her stunning, hand crafted, contemporary pieces of stained glass.
Lucy's stained glass career started off about eight years ago with a series of evening classes taken at the local college. She has continued to develop her style and designs since then; researching and experimenting with techniques and materials and is now mostly self-taught. She calls herself Me Veo Stained Glass because “me veo” is the Spanish for "I see myself" and the first thing she made in those evening classes was a mirror!
Lucy has a keen interest in nature and the environment - especially plants and insects – and this is reflected in her work: for example, butterflies and dragonflies often feature in her designs. Lucy has also developed a unique method of recycling and rejuvenating old wine bottles and glass jars into beautiful and useful vessels. Her work has often been described as “having clean lines with a good use of colours” and she is fascinated by the interplay of light with the many colours and textures of glass.
Lucy regularly attends craft fairs and also exhibits and sells her work through galleries and gift shops in Oxfordshire and the surrounding counties.
Lucy happily undertakes commissions to design and hand make bespoke items; please feel free to contact her to discuss your ideas about a commission you may have.
